Stock Exhaust Vs. Aftermarket

Hi guys,

Just a few questions for the guys that still have a stock can on their bikes, One do you like it? and why do you still have one?

the reason being is that I have a yosh that came with my bike and i was thinking of switching back to a stock can. I'm not really into the loudness of it on long rides. How much softer is it to an aftermarket?

2005

Thanks

Re: Stock Exhaust Vs. Aftermarket

i'll trade you my nice and quiet stocker for your loud and obnoxious yosh pipe

the stock pipe is QUIET. if im reading correctly, you have an 05 r6? the stock pipe is very good at muting the sound, however you will lose a bit of power due to emission reducing equipment in the pipe itself (think cat) also the stock pipe weighs a good amount more than any after market pipe due to emissions crap.

if your set on being quiet, there is a db reducer baffle you can get from yoshimura that quiets the pipe down a good amount.

I like my D&D. Loud and Proud. Definitely gets people's attention in traffic. Its kept several cages in their lanes as Im approaching. But to each their own.

The stock is extremely quiet, unless you're in the powerband, it's hard to notice. I prefer it for myself as I don't like the way many sportbikes sound with loud exhausts...the inline engines just aren't made to roar like a V-Twin.

If you want to be louder though for safety that makes sense, though. As does for performance gains.

Yosh sells silencers that yours might not have. Take alook and that might bring the sound down a notch without sounding stock.

dude, go gtyr. people are always wanting to get rid of em on here cause they are too quiet. That yoshi is going to be one of the "quieter" aftermarket exhausts, meaning that there are alot more pipes that SCREAM compared to the yoshi.
good luck and read what you type before you post cause your english SuCks!

If you really want a stock can, make a good offer like 50 bucks or something and I will ship it out to you. I have no intention to ever put it back on and it sits in a box all wraped up in my garage just taking space.

Wow the english teacher is in, everyone make sure you have your proper punctuation or HavocX is gonna call you out., lol

Hey if you want a quieter exhaust go for it, it won't cost much for the stock exhaust, but the Yosh pipe is probably safer because it is louder, check out the insert that these guys are telling you about, probably the way to go. Put it in when you are gonna go in on long trips and take it out when you want to that extra loud sound.
