djodjo - Flash from the Past

First of all, i'm from Belgium and i'm sorry if my english isn't that great, but i hope you can understand what i'm trying to say here !!

I bought this bike second hand, when i just got my full driver's licence ! Here you can only ride bikes that are under 25Kw until you're 21 ... So i rode a Ducati Monster (registered 25KW) and when i did finally turn 21, i got myself this baby !! It's a '99 R6 ...

It actually didn't look anything like this !! Couple of things i've changed :

- full polyester race fairing, with build in lens lights
- carbon fibre engine protectors and front and rear hugger
- full akrapovic titanium exhaust
- single row LED tail light and indicators
- black powdercoated wheels with fluo yellow rim striping
- blue chain and 14-50 sprockets

It kept me busy and i really love the look of it ! But i'm currently working on some new mods so in a few months you won't even recognize it !!

What's comming:
- '04 R6 tail light with integrated indicators
- new race fairing from belgian championship with one central placed light
- Ducati 1098-style mirrors with integrated LED indicators

Check it out:

NattyDrez - 2005 Sex Red R6

So I registered on here sometime ago and I lurked but there didnt seem to be much action going on. I spend a lot of time on a general sportbike forum but have noticed that this forum has been more alive so Ive been on here more.

Basically I always wanted a sportbike ever since I was riding dirtbikes and quads when I was little. My brother got an R6 and then a CBR and I knew I had to get one. I worked my ass off throughout high school at shitty part time jobs to save up for my first bike, which was a 99 CBRf4. After riding that for a year and putting 15k miles on it, I bought my R6, and I will be keeping her for a while!
I bought my R6 bone stock in December of 2007 with 6k miles on it. From then, I slowly added mod after mod and here it is a year later. My inspiration for it was to customize it to my liking yet not go 'over the top,' and I feel that I achieved that perfectly. She is my pride and joy, and is anything but a trailer-bike. I ride her every day of the riding season (when its actually nice out), which is about March-October here in Jersey. My favorite thing about my R6 is the fact that its the rare 'Rapid Red' paint scheme, which many people dont have. I see blue Yamahas all the time, the 'Raven' black editions, but you rarely see the red ones. I get compliments out the kazoo on her...everything from its so clean you could eat off it to parents trying to take pictures of their kids on it. Thanks for your time and enjoy the pics.

Modifications:
Take a look for yourself. Theres quite a bunch...

Future mods include headers, SS brakelines, and more PCed parts.

Why i should win:There are a lot of amazing bikes out there much cleaner than mine, but as a full time college student with next to no money i think i have done really well with what i have. Motorcycles have been my life, after saving for years on end at the age of 12 i got my first bike. A brand new Suzuki 2002 RM85!!! (my parents loaned me half the money) God it was a blast i only ended up in the emergency room my 2nd year with a broken wrist and a completely flush to the face nose! I had to have reconstructive surgery on my nose! At that point i said im done with my rm85! so i sold it:( and then bought a 2003 RM125 the SAME DAY:nocontrol. With what i made on my rm85 i got the rm125 for only $700 dollars!!!! Then i got the mod bug! i put Graphics, Full pro circuit exhaust, fat bars, everything i could find to fit on it. I learned how to work on it and changed my piston ring, i replaced the fork seals multiple times etc. Then i was trying to save some money to get my street bike. I was originally going to get a Suzuki gsxr 600:lmao. My dad and I went to a cycle shop that said they bought bikes, i had no intention to buy a bike that day. i went in to just sell my dirtbike, but they had a used 05 r6 with 200 miles on it!! My gold i couldn't take my eyes off it. Apparently the story behind the bike was that the guy said it was to much for him and traded it in for a four wheeler! My dad was the one that said lets see what we can get it for!!!!! MY life was complete i had my motorcycle!!!! I mean my whole life revolves around this bike! And i have put blood, sweat and tears into this bike and for that i think i deserve to win!!!

Feel free to comment on it! Wish me luck! Ride Safe! And thanks for looking!
