Oil change synthetic

I did my first oil change on my 2017 Yamaha I had 400 miles before the 4000 mile But the oil level light turned on on Sunday and I did my first oil change on my bike I switched over to synthetic a day after the oil light turned on for less than a minute and turned off and does this a few times I’m overthinking it or should I take it to the shop to have them take a look

Re: Oil change synthetic

when you check the oil level with the dipstick make sure you are checking it with the bike straight up. otherwise you will not get an accurate reading. it should take pretty much all 3 qts of oil. it will be slightly above the hash marks on the dipstick. it's dumb to just leave a few oz of oil in the bottle. this extra amount will not harm the engine and you're not wasting it by throwing it out.

the light is just a level indicator. it's telling you that you didn't add enough oil to the engine.
try sitting on the bike and check the level. it's easier than getting a friend to hold it.
