Yoshimura Alpha T Works Exhaust System for YZF-R6

Yoshimura has always led the way when it comes to performance exhaust systems for fast bikes. And more recently, they’ve turned their attention to refining the looks of their exhaust systems in the form of the Works Finish series exhaust. From tip to tail, well – almost to tail, the exhaust is assembled using 304-L grade stainless steel that’s tipped at the very end with a carbon fiber end cap. A set of black aluminum exhaust flanges on the primary headers

All of that metal, save for the flanges and assembly springs, is covered in Yoshimura’s Works Finish err, finish. Out of the box, you’ll find it has a satin gray look to it, but once fitted to the bike, and after some heat has been through it, the system changes into a unique bronze color that’s reminiscent of a true kit exhaust system. But that’s not just pukka race looks, it’s actually a carefully engineered exhaust system that’s CNC-mandrel bent for a perfect fit and significantly improved exhaust flow over the stock system.

If weight savings are of a concern, you’ve come to the right exhaust – the entire system weighs 11.1 lbs. compared to the OEM weight of 21.8 lbs. That’s a smidge under half the weight as stock. As far as replacement stock components goes, there isn’t a single item that you can replace on your bike with off-the-shelf goods that provides that kind of weight savings.

Check out the dyno data provided by Yoshimura on a machine with stock fuel parameters. A competent tuner will not only smooth out that lines, but provide you with even better power output.

sound clips and apparently, tuning is "optional" as the system was developed using stock settings, is this confirmed?

I do not have the full titanium systems in stock, but it is something we can special order for those looking. We always recommend tuning as the stock bikes generally run lean.

We didn't use them on our race systems (Akrapovic at the time) and according to Yoshimura they give the following disclaimer:

Note: The stock exhaust port gaskets will not be
used with the Yoshimura full-system.
Remove gaskets from exhaust ports
before installing Yoshimura manifolds.

Here is a link to their instructions:
