Did you ever figure out why ur gauge cluster wont turn on? I cant get mine to turn on either..
Nope, can't speculate as to the electrical yet, although I still think it has to do with either the sensors and relays not matching up, a poor connection somewhere (the entire bike was basically coated in oil that had been let to sit through summer heat which destroyed a lot of the lame ass electrical taping they use on these cheap wiring harnesses) in the circuitry, or perhaps something in the tach itself.
What is your setup like?
Mine or example, to the best of my knowledge is this:
My engine (&coils): 2002 R6
My Carbs: 1999 R6
Wiring harness: 1999 R6
*Sensors/Relays: 1999 R6 (see below)
*Headlights: 1999 R6 with an HID Relay (see below)
Tachometer: 1999 R6
Stator electrical: 2002 R6
Fuel pump: 1999 R6
I replaced all 2002 sensors with 1999, except the oil level sensor, which I seemed to have misplaced.
At the moment, the only thing that reads on the tach is the neutral indicator light, and that's with the radiator and fuel tank being plugged in for testing. Spark and pump are all there, and the To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 5 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
function like I said.
Although I was thinking perhaps the HID relays are messing with the harness somehow, and there's one small wire on the back of my tach that I think is an earth wire that's supposed to connect to the triple tree, but that seems to have gone missing as well. Anyway, did you get your tranny in?
