Please help, coolant keeps coming out of overfill hose.

Hi can someone please point me to the direction to find information concerning this. I saw a post on it and I have been trying to find it but no luck.
I have a 05 R6 with 20k miles. The bike runs great does not over heat but it keeps spitting out coolant when it gets around 200-214F at this time the fans would come on and I can hear the fluid boiling inside the radiator. I used up 1 gallon in 1 week refilling the reserve before every ride. I then decided to keep it a lil below half but still no difference. I then began riding my bike with only the radiator filled and would check and fill it before I take her out and monitor the temp during rides. I have had no problems but I know it's not safe for the bike so I am back filling up the reserve and it burns me seeing all that coolant keep spilling out. I use Prestone the green stuff. Can someone please help.

I would replace the radiator cap. it sounds like it's not able to hold the pressure in the radiator anymore.

Thanks a lot for the fast reply. I will definitely try that. I'm hoping its something I can easily replace. Will update as soon as I get it replaced to let you know how it went.

I have 1 question, Would it leak out by the radiator cap if the cap is not holding enough pressure or only through the reserve?

That's the purpose for the overflow reservoir. When the pressure exceeds what the cap can handle, it leaks into the reservoir.

Also, you need to be sure the radiator is full. Don't just add coolant to the reservoir. If there is an air gap in the radiator, it won't suck fluid back into the radiator from the reservoir like it is supposed to.

Hopefully a new cap and a full radiator will solve your issue. If not, then your issue may be a leaking head gasket, and cylinder pressure could be blowing into the cooling system and just pushing the coolant out.

Thanks for your help. I always fill both the reserve and the radiator which us usually full. If it's a head gasket leak wouldn't it continuously blow in the radiator as the bike is started? I had started the bike a few times and had it run with the radiator cap off and didn't see any bubbles blowing while I reved it or kept the engine at idle. Or maybe it could be a really small leak I'm not sure but will definitely have it looked at. Thanks again.

+1 on a new radiator cap. FWIW, my reservoir is usually only filled to the LOW mark. It is normal for coolant to get pushed into it as temps go up and the coolant expands. But it should not overflow the reservoir.
Also, if there is an air gap in the radiator, it will get pushed out after a couple rides. The expansion will push the air out first since it is at the highest point.

Hello, has anyone one of you guys used a a higher rated radiator cap? Eg: from 1.1 to 1.4.
