New Chain, Sprockets Aftermath of Broken Chain

Last week my chain broke at full throttle and broke a few other things. I got it all put back together yesterday. I went with the stock gear ratio and a 520 chain.

Re: New Chain, Sprockets Aftermath of Broken Chain

man you should have at least bought a good chain. Bike master stuff is cheap junk. I cringed when the dealer I worked at sold people that stuff. as far as the oil filter goes, that was smart. K&N are garbage and have been banned in most racing orgs including motoamerica. because they're known to rupture and the seal blowing out. they're now made in china and the quality dropped off big time. they even had to do a recall on it because so many guys had problems. google it.

Re: New Chain, Sprockets Aftermath of Broken Chain

The heavier 530 chains have been known to completely remove the chain guard mount at the 11:00 position to the front sprocket... thereby resulting with a gaping hole in the crankcase. I'd imagine the 520 can do the same after getting wound around that sprocket. Seems yu got luggy.

Hearing the 11:00 news, I used to wonder how motorcyclists would end up in a ditch (dead) at 2AM with no one else around to run them off the road. Then it hit me... they'd do the same thing on a bike that they'd do in a car... get a couple of drinks in'em and be okay on the road. NOPE.

This video was filmed over the course of 3 days. I wasn’t out drinking beer and riding my bike. I did however have a few beers while working on my bike and bought 2 to take home after getting my ML put on. Thanks for the reminder though.

It was a 530 chain that I snapped.

. I might put a better chain on in the next few weeks... Maybe.

I’m still in a title battle with this bike and not 100% sure I’m getting it. Would be dumb to put all these nice parts on it and then not be able to keep it. So I’m holding back until something happens. Trust me, I have a long list of parts I want
