What year r6 to buy 2008 or 2009?

Im looking at getting my first r6, a bike i have always wanted but couldnt due to insurance costs, but now insurance is low enough and i could get a 2008 or 2009

what year was the better r6 and why?
what differences between the two?

i always see people saying that the 2008 is the best did something change in 2009?

Thank you!

There are some minor differences in ECU settings. Basically, there are equal. 2008 a little bit more powerful. Better to pay attention to the condition of the bike.

My 2009 r6 was by far the best bike I have ever owned... I am still sad about the wreck to this day and its been 5+ years

Let the inspection tell the story.

Dito.
2008 was a great year, but its really up to the inspection if its all good or not. If not, doesn't matter what year you get then.

The differences between the years are nominal (maybe minor velocity stack differences, not entirely sure on this one). Like alistro said, just make sure whatever you buy hasn't fallen into disrepair and you should be fine.
