Suspension questions

Trying to get the suspension sag set on my 07 R6. Front was easy but rear not so much. Thinking the previous owner was a big boy and had changed out the rear shock spring and I say that because I weigh 210 and even with the rear spring set on the lightest setting I can only get the rider sag to about 23mm and I would like to get it between 25-30mm.
The shock has a red spring on it. Does anyone know if the factory spring was red?
Also I want to have the rear shock gone thru, oil changed, nitrogen set, bottoming bumper replaced, etc. and was thinking of sending it to Race-Tech. Any thoughts on this or is there someone else that you would recommend.
I thought about replacing the shock with an aftermarket one but not sure that is really necessary as this bike will never see track time. Just some aggressive canyon riding.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Re: Suspension questions

Give in and go to the track. Then you can justify Ohlins.

Re: Suspension questions

my stock R6 08 is a red spring.
but i think the previous owner of the bike has changed the spring to a harder one.. 23mm is quite hard. might work for some tracks

Re: Suspension questions

So am I correct to assume that an aftermarket spring should have the size stamped on it?

Re: Suspension questions

The service manual has a chapter on how to set up your suspension for either road or race use.
