Ok newbie forum postin...so I guess I'll try to make it a good one. Got my 2003 R6 about 2 months ago. Latest mod I was up to was changing stock bulbs to real H.I.D. And here is where the whole mess lies. (I already read up and did searches and am excited about the project involving dual inner and outer headlights running at the same time that one of our forum members is working on. kinda hoping he can help)
Anyway here we go...The replacement H.I.D. bulb supplied with my kit has a slightly larger flange (the circular metal part at the end of bulb) than the stock one. So I had to slightly modify the spring clip that holds the bulb in place. This still didn't exactly work, and as I was trying to make it work I heard a snap! The projector assembly floats inside the headlight assembly on two screws as far as I can see. The top one is a spring loaded adjuster and the bottom a fixed position. I pushed the bottom one off its screw that is held on by a plastic friction ring looking thing. At least this is what I can see by looking from the outside in. How can I get to these screws on the inside? Take whole front end off? Have to open headlight assembly? Damn! Purchase new headlight assembly?
