02 r6 tuning?

So im not so satisfied with the performance 02 r6, i was wondering what i can do engine wise to up the hp and tq. Also is there a type of tuning/mapping system for this year if not how would one tune this bike.

It has carbs, not fuel injection, no mapping. You do it the old fashioned way. With jet kits and needle adjustments

Ahhh never had a car or bike that was carbed, other then the tuning in a/f ratio but like what brands should i purchase from for upgrading internals transmission and motor

there's not much parts still available for those bikes. just ride it for what it is until it blows up and replace the whole bike.
I'm sure you can get engine parts but not as easy to find as a new R6.
companies like APE may still sell con rods, pistons, valves, sleeves and maybe camshafts.

but you're going to shit your pants when you see how much engine parts are for sportbikes. a set of carrillo rods for an R6 is $1100. car guys spend less than that on 8.

the 99-02 (gen 1) were known to have worn dogs on the transmission gears that would allow it to momentarily slip out under full power. the 2003 and up(gen 2) transmissions will drop in without any mods. it has 5 dogs instead of 3 like the gen 1. the problem was fixed and you can swap the whole thing.
