Ye, for low budget... You will always see better temps with fans. Less risk too

he filled it with coolant and for a time it ran great.. He was playing css at around 240 fps and it ran smoothly no matter where he connected to.. ( comcast ftw )

anyway.. a month or so goes by.. out of no where one of his coolant tubes melts
and coolant goes everywhere.. all over the psu and mobo.. he trashed everything..

ALL im saying is that if its his 1st build.. he's better off to go with NON liquid cooled.. Im running a roswell I-7 build with enough fans to keep my r6 cool and its near silent..
4 fans to be exact.. 2 push and 2 pull.. keeps airflow rollin and my pc never gets hot..

I played alot of bf3 and BF4.. no issues what so ever.. airflow is key no matter what route he goes... If it was me.. id go non liquid and stick to decent parts that are PROVEN time and time again to work... otherwise.. your taking chances and money doesnt grow on trees...AMD as mentioned before dont like heat.. nothing does.. but i know ive ran my I-7 for months
with only restarts..No issues what so ever..

So your whole argument against liquid cooled systems is that your brother bought a $500 gaming desktop with liquid cooling and it shit out on him? And you were surprised by this? Fck, I'd be surprised if a $500 AIR-COOLED gaming desktop didn't shit out after a month or two. Liquid cooled units are the business, and are the best of the best, but if you cheap out you will regret it. If you want the best you'll have to pay for it, end of story.

Re: Need help in choosing a new computer

whoa..easy bro.. ive heard alot of ppl say they had issues with their liquid cooled.

Remember its his first build.. why take a chance?.. my air cooled runs circles around alot of liquid cooled set ups.. i leave it on for weeks... Never an issue.. YES liquid cooled are decent and ive seen many do well..But (1) theres ALWAYS a risk with them.. (2) Its his first build.. better for him to learn the ropes on builds with something simple.. Then to go liquid cooled..make a mistake and have all his hardware lost due to lack of knowledge and experience.. As far as the pc i bought my bro.. it was around 500-600 bucks.. Not crazy cheap..cyberpower pc's are well known.. better to get 1 of those then say a Dell or HP. For something like that to happen.. chances are slim.. But it happened...from hoses to rad leaks to you name it.. theres alot of factors..Air is simple.. its either on or not..

look.. i dont know about you.. but i bust my ass at work underground for 12-16hrs a day.
when i buy something.. i get want i WANT.. Not what i can afford at the time.. Any pc is an investment. He will save alot of money doing it himself... if he gets the right parts.. does his homework and makes sure everything is compatible..builds something effective and simple.. then he has a better chance of success.. The more complex you make it.. the more chances something can fail..

Nope, not this guy. I'm financially responsible so I save up for what I want and buy it when I CAN afford it. Also, PC components depreciate faster than cars, so I'm not sure how you figure they're any kind of investment but a bad one.

Brb guys, I bought a Ducati for $500 and it shit out on me. Ducatis must really suck..

Re: Need help in choosing a new computer

I have a about a grand in my build... less than $40 into the cooling system (Cheap ass fans). I run AMD cpu and an R9 Card.... keeps them cool enough. Their really is no reason to splurge on cooling unless you're running crossfire or some other crazy shit.
