Side-by-side, the new Panasonic Viera seems to have a better picture... I believe the former Pioneer Elite (Kuro) group and tech has been acquired by Panasonic...

I'll have to see this.. I've been waiting for another company to have a better picture but my 8 series samsung has blown everyone who has come over away. I haven't seen anything someone has that has compared.

EDIT: at lunch i went home and tested out black Ops and GT5 on my new ps3 and the picture is amazing!!

Nothing like killing and sniping on 55inches..

At my job I get to see millions of TVs disassembled on a daily basis and we get all kinds of brands...

As far as bang for your buck-- Samsung > Sony > Everything else

Sony is a tad better quality, but you pay WAY more. Seeing what I've seen and talking with some of the higher-ups at Samsung, I would go with them... If I owned a TV.

The new LED TVs are the BUSINESS.

This is what our dis-assembly floor USED to look like (now it's way more crowded)... Each box is 27 cubic feet and stuffed full of electronics.
