Shock Removal 2018 R6

So I am wondering if its possible to remove the shock without buying the special pit bull bike holding brackets that fit under the pegs? Any ideas?

It can be held up with a set of jack stands. If you have aftermarket Rearsets it makes it easier, but it can be done with stock.

Stock rearsets on my bike here:

Note where the jack stands are though, as I moved them as soon as I could. If you look closely you'll notice they are actually under the frame. I have a thick rag between them and the frame, but it was a lot more stable that way.

I bought a 3/4” rod from Home Depot, put it through the frame and supported it with jack stands.

Re: Shock Removal 2018 R6

have fun, if you've ever pulled the shock off a 08+ R6 is a PITA. When you pull it out have the nut on top captive tack welded to the bracket to make the install muchhhh easier. Also, you can drill a hole in the subframe or grind part of it down for the bolt to slide in and out.
