2002 gauges lost power, bike died later while riding, wont start
Hello all,
So I just replaced my clutch cover gasket due to a previous leak, first time reassembling the clutch mechanism but I believe I did it correctly. Put in new oil and filter, full tank of gas. Bike cold started great, left it sitting for a few minutes to get the new juices flowing. As soon as I put it in gear my gauges lost power, everything except for neutral light, indicators lights. All other electrics seemed to be functioning properly (headlights, brakes lights etc.). Rode it around for the better part of 15 minutes to make sure my clutch was properly installed, everything great; then all of sudden the bike died as if it had ran out of gas or something, wouldn't start back up even as I was coasting to a stop on the highway. I had no luck turning it over at a stop; tried with clutch open/close, throttle open/close and all combinations. I am very confused where to start looking here, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Edit: My only hunch is I was never getting fuel from my tank and just burnt through what was in my float bowls/carb assembly/fuel lines. I still have no clue why my gauge cluster lost power, I check battery connections and fuses, everything was in order and secure.
