Valves are in spec. Canít get the fuel rail apart cause Iím scared of stripping the Phillips head screws so I canít get the injectors out. Nozzles look clean though. Gonna put it all together and see if the throttle bodies are synced properly

Checked throttle body synchronization. 2, 3, 4 are all right at 7 in hg +/- .2. The #1 was at 3Ē and highest I could get it to go was 4Ē with the adjustment screw all the way in. So thereís some sort of vacuum issue. Any ideas what could cause this?

Im pretty sure a bad diaphragm inside the throttle body could be a cause. I know when i fabricated my own slide stops the diaphrams were very easily torn, and i ruined a couple of them because i didnt deburr my stops. Maybe someone with a little more knowledge and experience working on these bikes will chime in for you. But i would pull the throttle body off since you are already in there and do a full inspection. Use the manual if you need a parts breakdown. Also some factory parts online sites such as yamaha parts house have good parts breakdowns to look at.

Like i said maybe someone with more than a few years experience of working on these bikes would have a little more or better input.

Just an FYI I am pretty sure they are actually JIS screws. I am almost positive any screw that looks like Philips is actually JIS and I can't imagine Yamaha would mix it up on certain parts. Using regular Phillips screwdriver on JIS screws will certainly strip them. Get a set of JIS screwdrivers.

This is life changing. Luckily I didnít strip any screws cause I could tell they werenít gonna budge but I had never even heard of JIS!
