Stator plug

Pulled my side cover off today and noticed the wire coupler where the stator and wiring harness meet has melted. I need to replace the one on the wiring harness since I have a new stator on the way.

Are their parts reliable? I'm looking for a reliable rectifier that doesn't stop working every month....

Everyone else seems to think so. I have no personal experience with them.

Re: Stator plug

Its a mosfet rectifier rather than the OEM diode design, runs much cooler- looks like a Shindengen. Quite a few citations for this kind of thing online, some with infrared pics of the various designs- the old OEM unit shown nuking the connector and wiring, alternatives running lots cooler almost down to ambient.

Re: Stator plug

go to lowes or homedepot. they both sell higher quality spade butt connectors than any auto parts stores. this is the best way to fix this. these are all that ricks motorsport electrics will send you anyway. look in the isle with all the electrical tools. (not the regular tool section of the store)
