How do I get this clip off????

Right rearset on a 2019 R6. It's the bolt that holds in the folding footpeg. One side is a flat smooth head, the other is a 'circle' head with a clip that goes around it with no give. It's not a snap ring or circlip, just a clip that goes around the bolt that feels like it's stuck in a groove on the bolt itself. The left side was simple, just a bolt and a cotter key, this side is kicking my arse.

Tried drilling it out like a rivet, sticking a flathead between the bolt and the mount, and hitting it out with a punch and deadblow. So far no dice.

You have to drill out the rivet and replace it with a new one. It's a pretty solid rivet. That, or change out the entire set by removing the bolts.

Chillin'... while the Lord watches over me!

I love my R6, but...there's no buts...

Drill bit head has to be wide enough to encompass the flare on the rivet head. If the drill bit is dull, or not designed for metal, it won't work.

Circlips can typically be removed by wedging pliers against the open end, and pushing the clip back. A small flathead screw driver can then be placed in the gap, and it pried the remainder of the way free.
