Keep in mind that this review was done 5 years ago. YMMV.

Re: Optimal Racing fairings

My bike came with Chinese fairings. They melted and blew off under highspeed.

Re: Optimal Racing fairings

Is it possible to cut headlight holes for the Optimal racing fairings? How hard would it be?

I did that to my old R6. it's not hard to cut fiberglass at all. I used a dremel metal cut off wheel and finished it up with a little drum sander wheel.

a dremel cuts through it like butter and leaves a nice clean edge.

I used a stock fairing for a template. tape some paper over it and rub it with your finger around the edges of the opening. then cut them out with scissors. now you can lay that on the new fairing and trace the opening.

I run a set on my 07 r6. Not a single problem. Wrecked out a couple of times with them and they held up really well.
