Looking for 99 or 2000, I like the look of the early models.

Re: New member

Welcome. I honestly would just check your local classifieds or local facebook groups. I just picked up a 2002 R6 from my local classifieds.

Thanks, plenty available, prices are good too. Just waiting on the sale of my 94 zzr600 and 85 vf500. Then it's shopping time.

I just bought a 99 R6 and I love it. After the rectifier is replaced it will be bullet proof and yes, it is the best looking model for r6 in my opinion.

I assume with an aftermarket rectifier? Is the original not up to the job?

Yes, the original gets too hot and melts the plug. The rectifier I picked is a FH012BA mosfet and I think it is from a zx10r. It is brand new and picked it up from salvage for $60 Canadian.

Good to know, thanks for the reply, Exactly the kind of pre-purchase info I am looking for.
