what windscreen are you using at the track?

HI guys,

So i have a clear puig windcreen that came with my bike. Not sure if it is the RACE version or not, but its defiantly the double bubble one. So over a few track days the screen started to crack. i have some spider cracks where the all the screws goes, and one side where the screen connects to the mirror bracket, that tab just broke off, and the 08+ R6 that tab already dont hold that well since its just held by pressure. So i want to buy a new screen. So what are you guys using. Not sure if i should get one of those taller screens or not, to help with the wind dynamics.

Can you guys let me know what you are using at the TRACK, and how is it working for you as far as quality, and wind dynamics.

Thank you

Cheapest clear windscreen I can find on ebay.

I have no way to make a meaningful comparison about aerodynamics. My (lack of) skill is a much bigger factor than the aero on my windshield. I would think if you're a high level, extremely consistent rider, you could compare top speed on the straight to find out if a windshield has better aero than another one. My guess is that it's pretty much inconsequential.

all the screen companies, Puig, Zero Gravity, Hotbodies act as if the cheap acrylic they use is something out of this world great. it's not. it's plexi-glass(lucite). the stock screens are made from polycarbonate. (lexan) much stronger than acrylic. acrylic is 4x to 8x stronger than glass, while polycarb is about 200x stronger.

unfortunately, they all use acrylic so no matter what you're getting a screen that will eventually crack, cloud, and bust in a crash easy.

but about the wind protection, the higher it is the more it blocks. double bubble is the most go to type windscreen for guys that race. too bad they're all over priced for what they're made of.

Heck i've seen $25 ebay screens from hong kong made from polycarbonate.
