Track - Nylon or aluminum engine sliders

I'm putting my new-to-me R6 on the track. Have you all had better luck with aluminum or nylon engine covers... both of them seem pretty soft?

I'm also buying cheap fairings. Is there anything else you would get?

neither one will do anything to protect your engine in a crash to be perfectly honest. if you want to pick the bike up and continue replace the covers with NRC covers or something from woodcraft cfm.
