trouble wheeling

I am able to power up a very low wheelie on my R6 but I have a heck of a time convincing myself that its ok to let it come up higher. I've clutched up a few but they only end up being bunny hops because I get out of the gas as soon as the front jerks up. I can ride out a powered low wheelie through first but my brain wont let me go any higher!

Any tips on getting over this fear?

Re: trouble wheeling

practice, don't try to go big right away. just keep going a little bit more at a time. cover your rear brake too.

Re: trouble wheeling

i dont get why you should cover your rear brake... because as soon as you cut the gas a bit, the front will come down.. same thing if you hit the clutch

Re: trouble wheeling

if you get it past the pivot point, cutting the throttle is going to be too late. but hitting the rear brake will pull the front end down. i know some guys will even ride the rear brake while wheelying for better control.
