Track fun in Michigan?

Hi all,

I'm moving to Detroit Metro area from Europe in a couple of months. I've had couple of track bikes (GSX-R750/ZX-6R) earlier and now I'm thinking about start doing track again. Lately I've been riding dirt bikes and my street legal GSX-R 1000. How does it work out there - should I join a racing club or something or just start doing track days on my own? I'd like to do some races also next year and for that I think I have to join a club and acquire a license, right? Does some tracks sell season tickets and how much they usually are? I'd like to do lot of track days and paying for single track days adds up quite fast.

Oh yeah, needless to say, I'm getting an R6 for the purpose...

Re: Track fun in Michigan?

Thanks a lot for the link. Seems like a really active forum. I was in Royal Oak last week and heard that there's a bike night every Thursday in downtown RO. Now to think of it, I think I saw a Detroit Sportbikes sticker on a bike there...
