RyndRaven And wow that's an old thread lol

RyndRaven I put the Heli bars on my 09 R6 and have to say I LOVE them. It's not a super dramatic difference physically, not noticable if you look at the bike. Up about an inch and out a few degrees but made a huge difference for me in riding comfort. Definitely more flickable at lower speeds being slightly wider you have more leverage. It gives me more room to push/pull on the bars when leaning. Overall just more comfortable to ride with, fits me on the bike better, and leaves you wanting to ride all day without any crunched over back/arm feeling issues. The heli bars and some snake skins made a night and day difference in riding comfort.... as well as learning to squeeze with my legs. My .02.

Hey mark! I had installed helibars tracstar on my 2014 r6 two days ago and they are just great. The R6 now feels more like a sports tourer and will make you ride it all day... Atleast now I can ride it over long distances without bothering about the shoulder blade and neck trauma that I was facing with the stock clipons.

The helibars make the bike more flick able in traffic and you will be lane splitting with a slightest opening in the traffic. Will keep you updated and post some pics later....

The fit and finish is very nice..

Re: Bar swap suggestions?

yah, i realize the R6 is no sport tourer but if i could make it just a bit more comfy would be good. thanks for the input guys. i'm going to look into the heli bars and see if they have a kit for the R6. if anyone has any pics too that would be great.

thanks!

Re: Bar swap suggestions?

I have heli's on my R1 and they're great. hey make a huge dif imo. a little pricey but i'm old and no way could ride distances without em. The converti-bars require modifying/cutting the fairing but offer more adjustability.

Re: Bar swap suggestions?

I have Heli Bars on my fireblade, it does make a diffrence, but even in stock form its miles better than the R6, mainly because its a bigger bike.

Fitting is straight foward, there good quality to.

Only thing is yes they will make a diffrence, but you have a small race style bike, its never going to be as comfy as say a fazer.

Its one of the trade off's for having a supersport bike.

Bump. I like to know too. I have back problems and would like to know if they can help longer trips more comfy.
