Re: Coolant Leak

If there is still air in the system it will pull more from the reservoir to fill that void. How full are you filling the reservoir? Engine cold it should only be filled to the low mark.

Other...

Re: Wiring harnesses

The green and white square connectors go to the fuel pump. The round ones just connect to each other it appears (but hard to tell where the female or male end is for the top round connector).

If op meant to say hid headlights then yea the draw would be greater. But if he meant what he said and only put the halos in (the led ring lights) then those are peanuts. Now something could have...

Re: 2008 R6 Electrical Problems

There are flow charts posted online and around these threads on how to proceed with checking your charging system. First you got to make sure your battery is 100% healthy. I'd disconnect it from...

Re: '10 launches forward at 7k rpm

You can't clean the newer gen TPS's. They are completely sealed. You will end up causing more harm then good. Have you put the bike on a dyno? Anthony is damn good at his job, but nothing beats...

Re: Lighting issue

Get the service manual from r6messagenet. There is a wiring diagram on the last page.

Start simple, check the fuse then work from there.

Re: Trailering questions

250 miles is cake. 250 miles of all highway is more tiring then 250 miles backroads. So plan your route. Search these forums, there are several threads on longer trip advice. I say 250 miles is...

Re: Heck! Is it possible my cam timing is off by 180 degrees?

Those dashed lobes are for the cylinders furthest away. The ones that are supposed to be at TDC, ie cylinder 1 in this case.

Re: Trailering questions

Sit on the bike and pull the straps tight...done. I don't use ratcheting straps, so I suppose if your using those then the fear of overtightening is a possibility. But again with your weight on the...

Re: 2012 error code 21

It's all laid out in the service manual. You can download it from r6messagenet. The 2008 manual applies to your bike.

Re: Battery question

No, but you can. Look on the battery label. It's very likely to be AGM though.

Re: Bad idea to run Michelin Pilot Road 2 tires on the track?

The tires are not the weak point here. The rider is likely to crash the bike from input error before the tires ever cause the crash. The OP is better off concentrating his time on setting the bike...

Re: 07 Oil Pan replacement

Use the service manual. You can download it from r6messagenet.

You will need new header gaskets. I don't care what others say, I always use new gaskets. But like you said it's not overly...

Re: Dropped her

The front headlight fairings and assembly all need to come off. But yeah pretty straight forward, just removing screws and a couple of electrical connectors. Reverse the process to put back on.

Re: Warped rotors?

Does your brake lever initially feel a little softer at first squeeze then tighten up after a quick release and squeeze? If a rotor is slightly out of round it will push a piston in slightly more on...

Re: 2007 vs 2008 Swingarm - Where are the Differences?

Weird. I went through this exact same thing buying a swingarm off Ebay. The swingarm was in great shape minus the fact the wheel would not go on.

Re: Idle problem! knock sound from clutch

Re: How much fork oil loss is too much?

You can try. But a pool of fork oil is little more concerning than just a little oil around the tubes.

If the chrome tubes were neglected for many miles you might have to replace the chrome...
