Hi I currently own a 2001 Yamaha R6, the bike runs fine, but when it warms up and you hit about 9-11k rpm the bike dies, I am wondering if it would be the stater or if it could be something else. Can someone please help me.
I have a 2009 r6 without immobilizer. the ignition was giving me problems so I bought an r6 ignition(immobilizer version) with a masterkey and ECU but this ignition does not have the same wires as the previous one.

I have a 2003 R6 that I would describe as a project bike. It needed a new ignition switch (sounds sketchy, but I bought it from a guy who had it stolen from him, wrecked, and then returned to him).

Bought this years back when I thought I had lost my key, found original after buying and installing. Switched back ignitions and this one has been sitting in a closet every since as most moto shops don't accept returns on electrical components. Link below suggests it is the same ignition...
