I have an 01 and the battery is positioned on its side. I just noticed the other day that i have a nasty stain on my swingarm apparently from battery acid. Gonna talk to the dealership about it to check on recalls for this. Does anyone else know about this happening???

I have an 02 r6 and it does the same. I have mad corrosion on my swing arm and rear shock resivoir Oh and a little bit on my chain from the battery acid. Pist!!!! Let me know if there are recalls or if the dealership will replace. Freakin yamaha. I just posted a problem with my gear box. But... despite these factory problems, the r6 is still the $#!T$. Bolt on R1 98-01 tripple clamps with 98-03 R1 forks and a 70 series front tire and she'll handle like a dream. Well... almost. She'd be perfect if it wasn't for the gearbox. here's my problem with it.
