About a month ago i posted a thread about my bike blowing one of the main 30 amp fuses each time i put it in. I was told that it was grounding out somewhere along the power harness. Being that the bike probably had its original harness and might have more than one place that burnt up or is kinked I decided to buy a new harness for the bike and install it after installing...same problem. If i even touch the fuse to its socket, it pops. Now my set up has been rigged to work and was fine before it started the terribly annoying problem. I have posted a picture of what I'm going to explain because I don't know much about electrical automotive things and a pic would explain better. When i got the bike there was a single wire that went from the power harness that was connected to the battery via the negative terminal along with the ground wire as well(bike ran for a 8 months like this just fine). I assume this wire is what allows you engage the ignition through the key/column because without it, when i connect the battery the bikes electronics come with the key in the off or locked position...but the bike wont start up at all. Since this problem, when I touch this wire to the negative terminal it blows that main fuse again. This leads me to believe, in my limited knowledge, its not the power harness shorting out or kinking because I've changed the harness completely and it just that one wire screwing up. Any help and input is much appreciated and if i need to explain something better let me know cause I'm ready to ride again.
