Answered. The first pic is correct for the silver shift linkage, but you need to flip the plastic boot and the bolt that connects to the shift rod to the opposite side of the shift linkage (so it remains facing out from the bike)

i posted this in the HOW TOs section but it hasnt gotten anyones attention. i've been trying to finish this mod...and have some questions. which picture is the correct way the shift linkage should turn? in both cases...the shift linkage wont clear the frame.
