Thinking about buying an R6 for $1900 with 28k miles. Haven't looked at bike yet, but do you think its a good buy? Guy says that all it needs are new sprockets. This will be my first bike by the way :)

If you don't know bikes, bring a friend that does to look over the bike before you decide to buy it.

Mandatory disclaimer - SUPERSPORTS ARE FCUKING TERRIBLE FIRST BIKES. GO GET A STANDARD OR CRUISER AND PUT 5,000 MILES ON IT, THEN GO GET A SUPERSPORT BIKE.

Now that that's out of the way, that's a damn good price if all it needs are new sprockets & chain (they all ought to be changed out as once). At 28k, it should have had the valve clearance checked very recently. Find out if it was done. It's a big, pain in the ass thing to do, especially if anything is out of spec.

5k isn't enough to prepare you for a sportbike.
You really shouldn't learn how to ride on one. 0-60 in 3.5-4 seconds 70 in first gear. I know those numbers make it more appealing but it is literally the same as handing the keys of a 600hp car to a 15 year old.

To answer the question $1900 is a pretty good deal even if it needs a few things fixed
