Long story short, I need a straight answer.

Will my 06 R6 harness plug right into an 07 R6 motor? I will be swapping motors, and I understand the tach has changed through the years. I want to be sure it reads everything correctly, and the ECU doesn't need to be changed for the different year motor.

Anybody? Thanks a lot.

i dont see why not.. i cant remember if 07 or 08 started the variable intakes.. so other than losing that if it had it anyway it should swap right over.

Yeah, I was going to say, the variable intake was an 08 thing along with fly by wire...

From what I understand, the 06-07 had very minimal differences...

Jeeesh how is this fella ever gonna know the answer with all the mis-info being tossed out on this thread?

06/07 motors = same. Swap it.

06+ = Fly by wire
08+ = Variable intake

Enjoy the new mo mo

Weren't the only differences between the 06 and 07 just more efficient lubrication of internal engine parts.....oil passages and such.

wrong buddy, flybywire started in 06, variable intake started on the 08s and onward.

you can swap 07 and 06 engines without any problems or changes in wiring harness.
