Hey guys, can someone help me with this project? I saw someone put a FGRT219 for 17+ to a 08-16 model.
What components should I use from a 2017 to make it fit? Currently here is the parts I'm sure to be replaced.
I'll also be pairing it with a OZ Gass RS-A rims for 08-16
  • Upper triple tree
  • Lower triple tree
  • front fender?
  • clip ons?
  • Some spacers/bearings on the wheels which I'm still not sure which specific bearings/spacers.

PS: picture below from the guy that did it, having trouble communicating with him cause he does not speak English.

If those forks use the axle from the 17+ you’ll need the axle and a 17+ rim. The 4th gen axle is larger, if I recall correctly

Can you just replace this part and do you mean that the axle is bigger in diameter? so if you use this from the 08-16 then you can use the 08-16 axle? looking at the picture he still used the 08-16 rims because I don't see the holes for the ABS sensor

From what I can see:
1. He is not using stock wheels.
2. He has eliminated the ABS. And has an adapter between the disc and the rim to replace the ABS trigger wheel.

The larger axle would probably mean a larger bearing ID, so I doubt just changing the spacers would be enough. You’d probably need to consult with Ohlins for fitment.

Gotcha, thanks would also probably need to consult with OZ Racing as I plan on pairing them with the GASS RS-A.

but looking at the picture I don't see the screw holes for the ABS sensor disc so I believe he is using a rims for
a 08-16

As I mentioned, he is using aftermarket wheels.. in particular, Galespeed wheels. The set up he has does not incorporate ABS. I am sure if the wheel manufacturer has an option for ABS, that would be part of the adaptor that is bolted to the wheel and the disc. What he has obviously doesn’t have that option. He is using 17+ discs, I can see that. Typically when spec-ing aftermarket wheels the application determines what bearings and adapters are needed. Most A/M wheels fit a variety of bikes and they fit bearings and adapters to go with the forks. This is all stuff you have to sort out with custom builds and information you give the component manufacturers when ordering
What if those forks are designed for the 08-16 R6? Or did they say they were for the 17+ and were retrofitted?

They are an FGRT 219 which is specifically for 17+

Would it be easier if I buy a rim for 17+ and have the conversion on the rear end or that would be more components/retrofitting to be done?
