anyone heard that the motor is moved further to the front of the bike on the 09 r6s making it harder to wheelie. or at least making it have a higher balance point?

and if anyone is stunting on this bike lemme know

I believe it. Mine didn't come up and I took off around 9k today from a stop. Guess I need a R1 to get her up.

You guys just aren't doing it right. :secret:D BP 09 R6s isn't any different than another other 03-05 or 06-09 R6s.
Ive only power wheelie'd it up in 1st gear a couple times. A whopping 1 inch at best
you should be able to get it up no problem...

power wheelies < clutch up wheelies

using the clutch is more controllable.
Feathering the clutch too much.. I have an 08, which is identical to yours, and can launch 1-2-3 wheelie from a light and set it back down before 4th.. all between.. eh.. 6k and 12k

I would consider your positioning on the bike first, then your technique, then the bike and whatever may be going on with it

Man I hope you never loop one of those. I would sure hate too.... Screw a bunch of that! I'll stick to holding them at 3k.

ok cool. just wondering, plus i dont see many r6s' out there
If I can do it on my buddies ZZR600 you guys have no excuse :)

I took his out after I threw a chain on it.... brought her up in 1st with clutch and got her up to 3rd and about 95MPH before she set down
i wheelie mine no problem... 1st and 2nd will come up off clutch sitting down 3rd i have to stand up to get it come up any decent amount..
Quite a few "S" model owners on here.. and even if we are out numbered as compared to the non-S model owners.. there are still a ton of 03-05 owners.. which is, save a few things, the same bike as well...
1st 2nd and 3rd power ups are good on my 04 and i have gearing for less torque and more top speed. just gotta play with it and let the bike do its own thing. i promise you your bike will wheelie your just not letting it lol
I have an 05 which is basically an r6s with a few differences in suspension.

Mine will come up in first under it's own power as long as I'm not tucking in. Other than that I can clutch it up in first, second, and I know it will in third as long as I'm standing up and bouncing (with clutch) but I haven't messed around with doing 3rd much.

i can pop and ride 1st gear(not super far but good enough for me) but i CAN NOT get 2nd gear at all all it does is lunge forward no pop or anything any help with that?

I've heard stand up but Ive tried that and it seems super sketchy to me and don't like it at all

Hey Nick,

What rear caliper setup did you end up with?

if you stand up and power it up and not try and yank it up its all good. it took me a while to get past that but once its up its awsome! i started in second and now 3rd is my favorite wheelie gear.. i can go a long ways in 3rd. i find it easier to find the balance point in 3rd rather than second..

Of course. You are going faster so BP is lower and you are in a taller gear so throttle input isn't as twitchy. Slow shit is much more involved.

none. im getting ready to part out the bike...

There's plenty of S' around here. Hell even my girlfriend has one... I can power up in 2nd and clutch it up in 3rd. No problems. If you can't get the bike to lift in first, your not giving full throttle. I'd end up looping if I didn't back off the throttle at the line.
