I built a 2017 R6 race bike and figured I would share the build list with the forum and document the progress. Im going to be racing a couple different series in 2021, Wera West and the new race org CRA. On to the build.

I purchased a 2017 R6 for $9K. Had 8K miles and a Akra slip on and FTECU tune.

I pulled the exhaust and street plastics right when I bought the bike did a quick track day to test out the bike then pulled the motor and stripped the bike down for a good cleansing.
Motor sent away for a MA Supersport SPEC build. Bike is close to being done and ready for the season.

Current build:
Engine and electronics Dyno at 124hp
  • MA Supersport build by Next Level Cycles
  • Full Graves Motorsports SS Exhaust CF can
  • Graves Motorsports Velocity stacks
  • FTECU flash by Next Level Cycles
  • FTECU ABS delete
  • FTECU quickshift with autoblip down shift
  • Dynojet PCV (VP race fuel CHP+) tuned by Lees Cycle
  • BMC Air Filter
  • Fuel Tank anti-slosh foam
  • Driven Racing Smog Plates
  • Speed Angle GPS Lap Timer

Chassis
  • Ohlins TTX GP3 .95 spring (setup trackside by Motosport Exotica)
  • Ohlins Steering Stabilizer
  • DB Holders Front fairing stay
  • DB Holders race subframe
  • Driven Racing Clipons
  • Driven Racing Rearsets
  • Driven Racing Clutch Perch
  • Driven Racing Brake Lever guard
  • Driven Racing swingarm spools
  • Driven Racing chain adjuster spacers
  • Driven Racing Captive wheel spacers
  • Woodcraft frame sliders
Aerodynamics
  • BikePlast race plastics set
  • Graphics by DrippinWet
  • BikePlast seat foam
  • Zero Gravity Double bubble windscreen
Braking and Drive
  • CoreMoto ABS Delete front and rear brake lines
  • Rear reservoir delete
  • EBC HH Pads
  • Driven Racing -1 front sprocket
  • Driven Racing +2 Rear sprocket
  • DID Gold X ring chain

I am currently sponsored by Driven Racing, DB Holders, BikePlast that helped with this build.

To do list:
  • Ohlins front fork cartridges
  • Possibly build motor to Superbike SPEC (2mm pistons)
  • Replace clutch
  • spare wheel set
  • manual chain tensioner
  • larger radiator (if I build SBK)

Here are some pics of the progress. Bought the bike in August 2020

Some additional photos during my shakedown first time riding the bike of the last round of 2020 season (took two years off).

Not bad for not having the suspension touched after installing shock and first time on track with the bike build.
