2017 R6 spark plug change

Hi, I’m changing spark plugs for first time in my R6. I purchased NGK CR10EK from local parts store. I’ve never seen spark plug tips like this before (see picture). Are these the correct plugs ? I haven’t taken the old plugs out yet. If these are the correct plugs, do they need to be gapped ? Thanks for any help

Those are the correct plugs. They are a little tricky to gap, but fortunately they generally come gapped correctly….. or at least pretty close. Adjusting them is easier with a tool similar to the one pictured.

Just did my plugs. Had to remove the radiator.to get to them. They tell me you can do it from the top.if you have small fingers.(2017).let me no how you do it!

I go through the front. To me, fighting the throttle bodies and all the crap under the air box isn’t worth it. Removing the radiator is really quick and simple. I just drain the coolant into a bucket by removing the lower hose, a couple more hoses and a few bolts, and it’s off. And there’s tons more room to work

I did it from the air box and honestly as long as you have a u-joint socket adapter you will be fine. I also used the NGK CR10EK and they made a huge difference. My spark plugs (08) were done
I had an 04 R6 that I did from the top.but was told on the 17 it's really difficult. So that why I pulled the radiator. Thanks for your input!

Those ngk cr10eix plugs are iridium plugs, & do not push a metal gap tool in as it's not good for em, those plugs will just go in as is. They'll have a life span at least tripple of the oldy's ya just pulled out, from 60000k's life in them until they'll need swap'n out, as i had a set of cr9eix's live in my 08 fz6n for 91000k's & when i pulled them out, they were still working perfect & still in excellent condition?

Those are EK’s not EIX’s. They aren’t iridium
