$235 Speeding Ticket

Ok, so only 1 month on the road with my new 6 and I get a @#$% speeding ticket. I was following a buddy of mine when a WRX pulls right between us. My friend takes off, and not wanting to be by myself on the interstate....I pass the car only to be pulled over by a State Trooper.

Now here's the thing. The cop tells me that he would have given my friend the ticket, but he took off....so he was giving me the ticket instead. Which tells me 1 thing..THAT I WASN'T THE ONE BEING CLOCKED BY THE RADAR. Bullshit!!

So I'm gonna try to fight it in court. Any suggestions?

sorry to heard about your ticket. but i think you got a really good point there. i never got a ticket before so plz tell me how that goes.

First off, you should have asked to see the radar unless u did and a good lawyer helps even if it is a few hundo, point kill your insurance. Good Luck :cheers

Same exact thing happend to me last summer. I pulled over to get out of the way........my friend ran. Cop ended up pulling in behind me and giving me the ticket. I fought it, had a awesome case going, then the cop lied in court, and their was nothing i could do about it.

I hate cops

Yea, the whole thing with the points would be worth the couple hundred for a lawyer..... but its disheartening when you read Redline's post:

Def fight it. i dont think a lawyer is necessary tho., just do some research and go prepared. i fought two tickets, 1 for speeding and one for illlegal window tint. got the tint one removed form my exponged and got speeding ticket thrown out too.

If he didnt lock on to oyu with thwe radar then he cant prove how fast you were goin.

Thanks for all your input. I think I'm just gonna try to fight it in court and see what happens.

But I get this feeling that the Justice system is somewhat biased against all sport bike (crotch rocket) riders. I just get the sense that cops, justices, judges look at us and assume we're all a bunch of reckless punks that shouldn't be on the street.
