Its time for me to get a new chain, I want to keep the stock gearing (02 R6, 16/48) so I don't want to do a 520 conversion. I've been looking around for a chain and the stock is a 532 (WTH!?) which is hard to find and for that reason cost roughly about $200 when you do find it. So I was thinking of converting to a 530 chain kit that has sprocket that are the stock 16/48 size, since i can find a kit like that for about the same price or less than the 532 chain alone.
My only real question is with a 530 chain kit with the same gearing as stock would i still loose top end (like the 520 conversion) or would my bike ride the same as stock?? and would i still need a speedo healer??
thanks!

as long as you keep the same gear ratio 16 48 it dosent matter what chain you use 520,525, or 530. Yes yamaha used a 532 for what idk but if you want to keep that chain you most likely will have to get it from the factory, and if you change to one of the more common chains make sure you get the sprockets to match. i.e. if you get a 530 chain make sure you get 530 sprockets

Stock is 530...... buy 530 or drop to 520... No need to even think about what ever a 532 is....
You my friend are wrong. My 2000/2001 R6 HAS a 532 chain ON IT RIGHT NOW, from the factory. 532 is the STOCK chain for my bike, and I am going to out on a limb and say his bike to(one who posted thread).
