The bridge is all in your head. Even if it is a metal grate bridge, it is only dangerous IF you have to stop or maneuver quickly. If your just cruising across it, you can barley tell the difference.

The bike just feels a little 'looser' than normal. You know how when you had no idea your girlfriend has been cheating on you with that big ass black guy, its kind of like that. It is only scary if you aren't wearing your gear!!!!

Just watch out for restlessness. And don't lose your concentration just because it's a long ride. I went up to Daytona via I-95 (about 80 miles) and it's easy to get a little bored. But you can't do that. Just stay focused and you'll be fine!

Huh?

its a bridge...theres no troll or anything so just ride. Also 80 miles isnt bad at all, i'm not a fan of the hwy cause its just too boring but thats not a hard trip. If this is your first trip though your wrist is gonna be sore during parts of the ride...

You'll be fine...just make sure to give yourself room to "exit" should anything swerve or pop up in your way. I don't think there is a shoulder on that bridge...

You should be fine. Route 1 in southern PA is not a crowded road at all and you'll have 2 lanes until you cross over the Maryland line where it goes to 1 (in the part you'll be riding). One word of advice is watch your speed around the exit ramps because the PA cops like to run radar on them since they are hidden until you're right next to them. It should be an easy ride and you'll have plenty of secenery to look at.

it's not grated but i think it's 2-3 lanes and happens to be he world's longest twin suspension bridge. Like they said before, just don't lose focus and be aware of your surroundings and i'll bet you'll have a great ride....oh and watch for those Maryland police...they don't play!

Put in some ear-buds, slap on a helmet, plug in your ipod and enjoy the ride. Listening to music on long rides keeps me focused. Rode about 200 miles on Sunday, but I did notice an increase in speed everytime Atreyu shuffled in. Maybe you should listen to Barry Manilow to keep your speed down. Anyway ride safe and watch out for cagers most of all enjoy, the more you worry the more likely you are to make a mistake.

I have advice. When you come to the bridge, gett off your bike and walk it across.....Make sure to wear your helmet and full riding gear in case you trip up!!!!

yo the delaware mem bridge is no joke! when the wind picks up that thing moves and you see it move while ur driving or riding. Not to mention its soo fooking long, only 3miles but seems like 15miles because you go up 500ft. Thats probably the worst bridge to start off with if you never been on one before, but good luck lol.
