Well guys, about 3 weeks ago some lady decided to run a red light and hit me head on in her silverado. I didnt have insurance on the bike, but i was wearing a helmet. I got out with no broken bones some how, just tons of bruises and cuts. knee got stapled back together, out of work for 2 weeks. all around a bad time. the airbags deployed in her truck and my bikes done.

You didn't have insurance, but did she? They should pay for your hospital bill, missed work and bike. Have you talked to a lawyer yet? If she has no name insurance, they will try to screw you. Just a suggestion. Glad you are ok!

i got ahold of their insurance company and theyre sending out an adjuster to check out the bike. i had just put a fresh ass tire on there too.

she didnt have any medical coverage, but i think that got tossed due to my health insurance.

yea gods on my side.

Sorry to hear about that! Yeah, her insurance should be forking up the dough for that! If not, get a lawyer!

i had an accident similar to yours, except i was going straight and a car that was parked made a u-turn, and didnt see me coming. well i hit the brakes, ended up doing a stoppie and let go of the bike and flipped off and i flew into the cars passenger door, you could see the imprint my body left on the door. it was a ford excursion, so the doors are pretty big, and i basically smashed into the door then fell back onto the cement, and then the guy hits the gas and takes off. i wasnt injured at all except for a scrape on my ankle, a few people saw, and called the cops, 10 minutes later, the guy comes back, telling me he didnt know that i hit his truck and blah blah blah, i wanted to kill his ass, but i had restraint and asked for his insurance and drivers license, he was wearing a portos bakery shirt, so i figured if his insurance is fake, at least i know where he works. so i got a lawyer, and it turned out his insurance was good and after waiting a year i got a $12,000 settlement, . heres the BEST PART, the day i get my check from my lawyer i wrecked by bike again. and i spent a big chunk puting it back together since i only had liability and wrecked it on my own.

so yeah your bike looks pretty bad, but its nothing $3000+ cant fix. was the frame damaged? looks like it was the front end and forks mostly. by the looks of it, if i were you id be in LAS VEGAS right about now, cause your one lucky s.o.b.

glad to know your alright and hope it works out for you, and get a lawyer, and go to therapy you get MO MONEY!!!!!

Wow those fork tubes are TORCHED!! Glad to hear you are gonna be okay... people really need to start paying attention when they are driving. I like to reprimand drivers on cel phones that are in their own little world. Hold the pretend phone to my helmet, then give them the tisk tisk finger shake with a head shake. Just to let them know that someone is watching them put all of our lives at risk. It would be a shame if someone mangled you for life because they were on the phone talking about whats for dinner, or whats going on with Greys Anatomy! K, I'm getting irritable. Rant off!:party

Yea definitely let us know what happens with this whole situation. The story doesn't seem as secure as it can be. Also be sure not to settle for something just tossed at you to shut up. You want all medical, bike, and pain/suffering taken care of.
