get it from motomummy.com
i've never delt with them. i bought mine off of ebay brand new out of package for 275 shiipped and it perfect. but if its a legit site you could always return it, and if its not and you have a problems just file a dispute with your credit card company.

motomummy is a great site if not i would go there.
I ordered my Scotts 08 damper from them. shipping was a little slow(about 2 weeks) but no problems with them.
we are only selling the gpr's we have them dropping the product line as half the version 4's we have sold have now leaked oil and gpr only has a 30 day warranty on it. until they get the product so very few have problems we are going to be dropping this product line.
I talked to gpr today about my 2 month old v4 for my 08 r6 that was leaking and they said it was the seal company that they were dealing with decided to start saving money and getting seals from china and they all leak. They have now switched companies and will send you a new v4 with a call tag attached so when you get it, you just put your old leaky one in the box and send it back, whether it be 1 week or 3 months down the road from when you bought it. He told me that they have taken back about 30,000 already and will continue to take them back until they are all replaced.

Hmm if someone can confirm this I might go ahead and get the GPR at that price. If not i will probably just go with the Hyperpro.
ya I'm just going by what he told me and that I will have my new one by the end of the week and should have no problems with it. GPR is a really good company and I knew something was up when I saw my v4 on my r6 leaking because I have 2 v4's for my 07 wr250f and my dads wr250f that we bought last year and they get serious amounts of abuse and they aren't leaking at all, but my 2 month old r6 one was. The customer service guy told me that the bad seals went out with all the v4's the last couple of months probably from about the beginning of the year until april, and whatever ones are still on the shelf that were made in that timeframe.
If you search forums you'll find they have leaked oil for the last few years even on the older models. The version4's just have a higher rate of leaking by a very large margin we are now learning. We were hoping with the new version they fixed it. Search around the net and you'll probably find it's not new. Just hope they get it fixed as it's a nice damper if they would just stop the leaks...

I went ahead and ordered a Hyperpro because i have heard nothing but good things about them. I also give Motomummy 2 thumbs way up!
