im also kinda new to san diego... can anyone reccomend any good places to ride twisties? I had the day off yesterday and i cruised up the 15 north to the 76 east and rode all the way up Palomar mountain... it was friggen awesome!!! although there were kinda a lot of cars in the way :( anyway, im in the pacific beach area and i love riding twisties, i just dunno any places that are close by... palomar mtn is like an hour drive, so any spots closer than that would be awesome... also, no one will prolly tell me, but is there any good spots to practice some stunts as well? thanks 4 ur time, peace!

I just rode out to barona casino on sunday with my buddy. It wasn't busy at all heading out there (had to pass maybe 2 or 3 cars). Took Scripps Parkway east to Hwy 67. Take that south and make a left on Willow, then another left about a mile down at the 4 way stop. There is a 6-7 mile stretch to the casino that's nice and twisty. Maybe 30 minutes altogether from I-15 / Rte. 56 at a spirited pace. That's definetely not the bast road in SD, but it's pretty close and relatively uncrowded.

Other roads are Poway road out to Julian, De Luz in Fallbrook. Palomar gets crowded/policed/debris-ed too much these days.

As far as stunt spots, the loading area in the back of big stores (target, home depot, etc.) usually have a good 100-150 yards of empty and pretty well lit space to **** around on without fear of police (unless someone is still in the store and calls the cops).

But I'm down to ride any weekend. It's always nice to have a couple of riding buddies. I'm in Carlsbad btw.

We should get a meet together. There are so many riders here, but its all unorganized.

Also, riding to Barona is not a good call. The road is always busy, and people get faded at the casino and drive down the mountain drunk. I grew up in Lakeside (the bottom of the mountain) and always heard about people dying on that road (Wildcat Canyon Rd). There is, however, a GREAT spot in Lakeside by El Monte park on the way to El Capitan Lake. Google that shit and hold on! Its like 7-8 miles of long windies and 5 miles of 1st gear windies.

San Diego is super compact, so you usually have to drive a while to get to a good spot.

We should organize a ride. My next two weekends are booked unfortunately, but how does the first weekend of october sound? It should give us time to pick a route and research it ahead of time, maybe even do a couple in the same day if they're small enough.
