I was going around one of my newfound favorite sweeping corners, about 55mph.

Everything felt absolutely beautiful... good lean... no cars... nice and smooth road... accelerated out of the corner...

Pulled up to the stop sign at the end of the road... looked around at my rear tire...

dont be so worried about loosing chicken strips.
when your riding gets there, the strips will be gone.

Take your time they will come off with experience. Trying to get rid of them is a never ending cycle.

Chicken strips does not = skill.
do a track day, or better yet visit a track day & participate in a parade lap (some do this, not all though - 5 free laps if you have appropriate gear) and your chicken strips will be gone, lol.
yeah same here man...mine are JUST ABOUT gone, just not 100%. More like 97% gone lol
What are chicken strips?
2nd that, what are chicken strips?

I asked this yesterday in chat and The Fireman told me to go to KFC and order a #4 :lmao

I'm guessing they're the outside part of the tire that's not worn down yet?
Yeah, they are the strips on the outside of the rear wheel that are pristine, untouched rubber.

No worries about me riding outside my skill level, I know it'll come with time. I honestly didn't *really* want to get rid of them yesterday, considering the day I do I will have to drag my knee, which I am not all that keen to do in jeans!

The post was meant to give all you old bike vets something to snicker at, and maybe reminisce!

:D

I like mine with Heartland Ranch.
hhaahah i still have those!! Im such a poosay when it comes to riding the bike fast on corners...I was comming off a highway ramp and i was going like 30mph. For some reason when I lean to much the bike still goes to the outer side of the lane.

look THROUGH the turn not in front of you

you go where you look

It's so strange, but SO true. If you feel like you're not making a turn, twist your neck more and your bike will follow. Took me a while to really believe it, but it's saved my life I'm sure.

I don't think I'll ever lose the chicken strips on the tires I have on now. The previous owner wore down the center (about 20% left) and the sides have a good 90% left LOL. I don't know if I could do that even if I tried. And I don't take turns all too hard yet.
Just enjoy the road!
Better off enjoying the ride though!:D
