Hi,

I noticed while riding today that when I let go of the handlebars and sit up right, the bike starts to veer slightly towards the right.

I suspect the suspension setup. I had it setup for me a little while ago and I think Ive had this uncomfortable feeling since.

Is there something else I should be looking at or worried about?

Cheers.

If you are still in NJ our roads are pave with a 5-8 deg slop so the rain moves to the edge. Just move your junk to the left to balance the bike. LOL My bike move to the right before I installed a dampner. Now I have no problems.

Is your rear wheel aligned?

I would check that. Your chain and sprockets, as well as the handling of the bike, would do better for it.

are you sure its not you? Even when you think you're sitting straight, you might be off center or leaning slightly. I tend to lean to the right too because the throttle is on the right

Dude, my 05 R6, my friends 05 R6, his friends 05 R1, his friends 06 R6, and our mutual friends 06 R6 all do the exact same thing. You take your hands off and sit up, boom your going towards the right. Sucks.

I don't know what was up with that friend thing... :dunce:

well if the rear wheel isn't properly aligned, but the aligning marks line up......

How do you suggest checking or correcting the alignment?

use a string that wraps around the front wheel. pull it back and u can tell by the gaps between the string and the rear tire

String method is the best. I'm looking to see if I can find the instructions on how to do, so I don't have to retype. Sorry... I still don't spend much time here yet.

obviously the bike would need to be completely vertical and the front tire would have to be completely straight.... but I guess I could see that working

it does^
they also make a tool that makes sure the rear axle is perfectly parallel w/ the swingarm pivot.

basically u measure each side, and they should be the exact same length.
