Okay,

Novice road race question regarding suspension and tyre set up. If a bike is pushing (feels loose) out of the corner, what adustments are typically made and why? Are there any books or articles available to help regarding susp. feedback, reading tyres, general race knowlege that everyone takes for granted?

just so you know, if you say its loose, most will think the rear is loose. Anyway, You could put a touch more pre load in back and take a touch out of the front to get the bike to sit nose down witch will transfer weight to the front. An easyer way would be to lower the front by pushing the fork tubes up in the tripple tree 5mm at a time. You can also add a click or two of compression damping to the rear so it doesnt compress too fast and load the rear tire. You can also tighten up the front rebound a touch so the front stays a little lower after being compressed.

The easyest way is to put more of your body over the front when your rolling on the power to get out of the corner. Nut hug the tank and kiss the mirror on the corners you need extra steering on. You can also do a little later apex on the turn. That will allow you to square up the bike faster and get all the power down.

Hope this hleps

P.S. All this is usless unless your sag is set correctly.
