I'm looking to replace all the nuts and bolts on the bike after I repaint next month. Wanting to have them all black instead of silver. Any advice on a good brand? Currently looking at a Pro-Bolt fairing kit.

i ordered a kit from "bike fairing bolts ", shipping was slow and the color was wrong.(i ordered black and got silver). they are supposed to be sending me the black ones, but in their e-mail they said they have been having problems getting the correct color to their customers. so save yourself a headache and avoid them.

I went with bikebolts flat black. Pretty good, though since the bolt is painted or has a coating on it the allen key won't properly fit. Looks smaller than the stock, probably saves weight but at a minimum

Can any of you provide links to these kits? I have been looking for a kit for the 6 and have not been able to find any that say they fit the 08 r6

Depends on what you're trying to do. Bike bolts has 2 kits, basic and full.
You can choose the packing type: Retail or Bag. I chose bag since it's cheaper, and the color of the bolt.
Basic:

I'm considering the ones MikeN02 posted, are the threads the same ad the OEM ones, or is it necessary to buy the full kit?

Yes the threading is the same. Like I mentioned the bolt has some painted coating on it so it might take a little bit of effort to put an allen key in it. It's not necessary. I bought the basic with a little looking around with a coupon code to get some money off.

Basic kit has your basic fairing bolts on the sides and tail. Doesn't have the windscreen threading but I believe you could use the same bolts for the windscreen.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the threading is basically Metric. Majority of japanese sport bike bolts are metric, that's why you can buy a "universal" kit from your local motorcycle store. Screws and bolts from home depot or so don't really work because their not metric.

Hey Mike,

Can I install a fairing set from scratch with the basic kit alone or do I need the complete kit? I'm still confused as to which one I need.

I don't need anything fancy. I just want to be able to install my fairings as if I didn't have any bolts or screws for them to start.

Thanks man
