Had a pretty good tank slapper today. While passing i got on it & before i got a chance merge back in on 2 lane hwy i got a nasty tank slapper. 1st time on this bike scared the crap outta me especially going so fast. I thought i was gonna eat it. But immediately after i noticed i had to pump the front brakes slightly (after i straightend up). Thought it was weird cuz they worked fine the rest of the day. Anyone notice this? Also i notice a click at the upper tree when braking hard which i believe means i need a steering head adjustment & possible be the cause of the shake.

Normal to have the pads separate in a tank slapper, pump them back into position and you're fine....other than riding stupid enough/with bad enough technique to enduce a tank slapper on the streets anyway.

As far as clicking in the steering head bearing-- tear it down and make sure everything is tightened down per spec. Otherwise replace the bearing if that doesn't fix it.
