I finnaly got to flog the livin' shite out of her today, ..........and it was goood!
I've been running it in fairly responsibly, not spending to much time in the upper rpm range and letting it come down "somewhat gradually", and it wasn't easy. Anyway, last friday I took it to the dealer with about 1400km (around 800 miles) on it, and had the first service done. The oil was very clean, and the throttle bodies where still in sync. I look forward to doing the maintenance myself now. Hopefully my service manual will arrive soon.
I had the shift light set to 14k rpm for break-in, so I reset it to 16k, hooked up with two of my die hard riding buddies around noon and we headed out. It was so nice to ride without another thought for the first time this season. What a bike! We rode over 300km (200 miles). The mid-range and handling were already apparent to me, but spending extended pieriods of time in the upper rpm range was a great new experience. What a wonderfully violent little machine! Definitely more bike than my 04 cbr. Can't wait to take it to the track in a month.
Sorry if I've bored some of you, but it was such a good day that I just wanted to share it with some like-minded people. See you out there.
