Hi All

Just got back from a trip to Assen WSBK and my rear is shot and need to change ASAP. I have been looking at the bridgestone 016 has anyone tried these? Are they good for road use? And also are they ok if you get caught out in the rain.......:toocool:

Hi Ross,

After recently having an off on my new 08 R6 with those shitty OE Dunlop Qualifiers, i felt jinxed and decided to upgrade. I ran MIch's P/Pwr 2ct's before and they were ace on road/track.

I got 016's now and done 200 miles on them (dry only) but my confidence has been dented and ive not been pushing as hard as i used too. They still been great and not missed a beat. id say giv me some time and il let you know how they get on but our whole weeks weather is forecast as heavy rain so not to keep you waiting see the below.

I chose them because of the following write up from Britains "Fast Bike" Magazine (No'1 for hardcore sports riders and modifiers).

Here's some quotes...

"Soft edges, front and rear are the same as the BT002RS trackday hoops"
"First session i was hugely impressed, and elbow down"
"Front tyre delivered impressive entry speed, Tread shuffle is banished.
"The drive zone is fantastic allowing big throttle openings on a Fireblade and your knee barely off the ground.
"It communicates brilliantly and slides progressively, so you can push your limits. Its actually better at stepping over the limit than the trackday BT002RS, which weve criticised for breaking away too suddenly.
"Remained consistant after 20 mintues session on high track temps"
"Bagged a B-King and on motorway hit 165mph, expected rear tyre to look tortured but it was really smooth"
"This is more than just a street tyre"

Hope this helps and you'd better be greatful this is the 2nd time i had to type this cos i lost it last time:confused:

PLus they look good painted..:nocontrol

Got my BT-016 and what a tyre.. compared to the 014 I think these are by far a better tyre a lot more feel and much better side grip by far.
Can recommend these to any fastish road rider......:toocool::nocontrol

either way, whatever you choose, there both brilliant tyres and nothing really between them. done 4500miles on my 016's now, and there very good but i did a trackday on the mich's and there good too. Just take ya pick!!!
Peace.:toocool:
thanks mate
yeah just getting prices back now i can get the bt's for £175 and the 2ct's £185 , i guess the mich's are the safe bet as everyone has tryed them and loved but im liking the bt's to.... dont ride tracks just our shite british roads !
