For x-mas my gf got me a LOCKHART PHILLIPS SPEEDSCREEN V2 (Chrome) for my blue 07 R6. The thing looks really good on it, but they somehow used a dremel to shave the edge of the windscreen by the third eye and it didn't exactly turn out the greatest.

****For the reason NOT to buy this windscreen is b.c it burnt a nice hole in my speedo. It was about 65 degrees out and partly sunny other day and i got the bike out to wash it. In the time it took me to do a quick wash and wax. Which is around an hour or so. It burnt a nice hole in the speedo and burnt the inside of it by where it shows my speed. They said if i'd send them pics of it and what happend they should replace it. They told me that with this windscreen that you aren't aloud to park your bike in direct sunny light or this will happen. I never knew that but my bike wasn't in direct sunny light nor long enough that i thought something like this would happen. I'll keep you guys posted. i just wanted to get the word out so no one else has to go through this.****

That suxs man. I hope they come thru for you and fix that. I don't think that a product that is going to damage your personal property should be allowed to be out on the market, not at least with some kind of warning all over the package that it came in.

When i called them about the problem. They said that there should have been alittle piece of paper in with the windscreen saying that it shouldn't be parked in direct sun light. i never even seen the paper until i went back through the box after talking with them and found a very small piece of paper with small text telling me this.

*As with any windscreen that has a reflective coating on the inside, it is recommended that you avoid parking your motorcycle in a sunny spot or cover your bike. If you do not have an option, it is recommended that you park the motorcycle facing the sun to avoid sun damage caused by magnification of the light reflected from the inside of the windshield.*

If i would have known this in the first place i wouldn't have ever bought it b.c it's kinda hard not parking a bike in the sun sometimes. You know lol

yea that's exactly what it did. It acted just like a magnifying glass when the sun was hitting it at the right angle.

even the puig double bubbles are like that, but mine came with a warning stuck on the screen.
but i have to admit, your screen looks tough as though

All the windscreens can do it, but some easier then others. Some say it comes from the sun going through the screen like a magnifying glass and some say it's from the sun hitting the inside of the screen and bouncing down. Either way it happens to a lot of bikes and isn't the fault of the windscreen. I've heard of puig, Lockhart philllips, zero gravity and them all doing it. It's rare, but it can happen and especially if you're in a hot climate where direct sunlight is VERY hot/bright.

The Puig bags all state it on them. It was the first thing I noticed when I received mine in the mail. Can't remember if it was on the bag or on the screen, but yeah. And it's only from the sun hitting it from the inside, I believe. Or is it the other way around? Anyways, it can only be achieved from one side. So always park your bike opposing the stated side. The Spaniards up @ Puig elegantly state it with a funny phrase at the end of the warning paragraph in some horrible English. I forget how it goes. "FACING SUNLIGHT BAD! OPPOSE SUNLIGHT GOOD!" shrugs
